Gajner Palace, an incomparable jewel in the Thar Desert

of Gajner Palace is fascinating with both Rajput and
Mughal flavor. Gajner Palace is built by H.H. Maharaja
Sir Ganga Singhji of Bikaner and spread over 6000 acres. Gajner Palace was used as a hunting resort by the
former Maharajas. Gajner Palace now has a private
wildlife sanctuary, which is home to endangered
antelopes like the chinkara, black buck, neelgai and

rooms including 11 historic suites and 31 deluxe
rooms.
Gajner Palace has four distinctive wings:
Dungar Niwas, which has the 11
historic suites of hotel. These were primarily used by
British dignitaries during their leisure trips to
the Palace.
Mandir Chowk, part of the reception area for
dignitaries arriving by train, this is dominated by
the presence of an ancient temple and age old Banyan
trees.
Gulab Niwas, which has 31 deluxe
rooms that are used in the past by railway officers.
Champa Niwas, is a recently built section
which has a beautiful courtyard with rooms all
around it.
Each suite has been meticulously restored to its
original grandeur, to recreate the aura of a bygone
age. The rooms are fitted with every modern
convenience, and the hotel also provides laundry and
room service, 24 hour hot and cold running water and
other basic facilities like the Telephone, Fax,
Internet facilities, Travel desk, Money exchange and
Safety Lockers.

The Conference Hall, situated
in the Dungar Niwas wing, overlooks the lake from
one side and a beautiful courtyard from the other.
All modern facilities are available for small
conferences.
For large conferences, the Mirage restaurant can be
converted into a conference room.

The multi cuisine lakeside
restaurant, Mirage, once called 'Ganga Bhawan', recreates the grandeur
of royal dining, set amidst high ceilings, gold
framed mirrors, intricately crafted fireplaces and
wood flooring. Mirage is open throughout the day and
serves a la carte meals and snacks.
Imperial Sand Grouse, the restaurant at the terrace,
is named after the endangered bird, and provides
spectacular views of wildlife, migratory birds on
the lake and the game sanctuary that stretches on
beyond.
Mrigtrishna, the bar is named after the palace
sanctuary. Its' magnificent chandeliers and
artistically painted ceilings are reminiscent of the
British Raj.
